CB AFL Dream Team and Super Coach Podcast #71: Post Round 11, 2009
M0nty has some breaking news to start the show this week, and it’s not hard to guess where he’s going with it given the popularity of a certain Collingwood rookie…
After that bit of silliness, the boys rehash the old issues of emergencies replacing players who score zero, plus the substitutes debate, both of which got freshened up this week by injury events on the field.
Then it’s onto the round review, where the most important name is Jade Rawlings, the new coach of Richmond, and m0nty is looking for some winners in fantasy terms. Shane Tuck is one player whose scores have already ticked up, while Tyrone Vickery makes his debut this week.
Adam Cooney is still underpriced, and Molly (who already has him) makes the case. Daniel Pratt was an unloved fantasy premium last year and Scott McMahon is looking like the same in Super Coach this year. Brendon Goddard and Jarryn Geary had poor afternoons against the Roos for different reasons.
Josh Drummond will miss another week with his long-awaited but seemingly inevitable muscle injury. Matthew Kreuzer wil be joined in the Carlton ruck stocks by Robert Warnock in about a month, and Moly also comments on Krooze’s 2010 prospects versus a returning veteran like David Hille. Steven Salopek is an underpriced midfield premium who still has a while before he hits rock bottom, but Paul Duffield is fully priced and set to finish in the top seven fantasy backs.
Scott Lucas has spent his forty days in the wilderness and looks ready to rock and roll, beating Andy Otten all ends up on Sunday arvo. Owners of Otten may be looking at a straight swap for his Crow mates Scott Thompson and Chris Knights. Beau Muston succumbed to the Swans Effect, unlike Luke Hodge who earned m0nty’s heart (but is long since gone from his fantasy teams!). Martin Mattner proves the old trope that it’s good to get players going to their second club in the year they go, but not the year after they settle in.
Dean Cox is proving worthy captain material when up against some of the shockingly underages and undermuscled ruck tandems in the AFL these days, fighting for captain’s armbands with Jimmy Bartel, who moved back from a wing to the corridor this week. Plenty of those who sold Chad Cornes bought in Cats Corey Enright and Andrew Mackie, and Molly can’t argue with their logic. In the Monday game, Colin Sylvia and Alan Didak put forward their credentials as premium fantasy forwards once again.
In the captains segment, the main point of discussion is whether to pick at least one of your (c) or (vc) in the first week of the split round, which is as much about psychology as anything else!

Is this the latest edition of this podcast?
I would expect that there should be a more updated one since this, but am unable to find it….
Thanks
