CB AFL Dream Team and SuperCoach Podcast #85: NAB Cup Round 3, 2010
This week Molly and m0nty switch up the CB style away from individuals to focus more on team-wide issues, going through each club in Round 1 playing order.
Richmond: Can the young Tigers score enough in losing sides?
Carlton: Where will Ratten find goals?
Geelong: Is there any room for upside at Geelong?
Essendon: Are their kids as good as last year’s run suggests?
Melbourne: How long will Bailey stick to each of his star draftees?
Hawthorn: How bad is the injury situation, and is there value there again?
Brisbane: How much will Voss stick to his young kids and how much to his ring-ins?
West Coast: Can their engine room do the job week in week out?
Sydney: How will that four-running-defender system work in practice?
St Kilda: How much will change from last year, if anything?
Port Adelaide: Are the new roles for Chad, Kane, Gray and Westhoff going to work?
North Melbourne: How much can the younger players take on at once?
Western Bulldogs: Can any new players squeeze into that 22 without injuries?
Collingwood: Have they really added anything new with Jolly and Ball?
Fremantle: How many of these hot rookies will play extended runs in the seniors?
Adelaide: Are they about to have an injury-riddled disaster of a season?

Re: the AFL app, would you consider doing an iPhone app for FanFooty Monty? If it was good enough, you might be able to put $2-3 on it, and monetise some of your content.

Sir Humphrey: I might do one during the year actually. Depends on how much funds I have on hand to play with.

Don’t do an iPhone app, Flash apps will soon replace it, and therefore the apps will be available on more than one type of phone.

Is that a jobe Disco? I think there is a fair arguement to say make a better mobile site rather then an iPhone app but Flash is in a battle now and one it could loose!

Disco DB: the only problem with that is that Apple won’t allow Flash on the iPhone.
March 14th, 2010 at 4:49 am
yeah, I agree with a better mobile site, overall. Personally, I think iPhone apps are a bit of a fad. Plus, if Nokia, Sony et al. want in on the app market they’ll need some sort of lightweight platform, like flash. I heard that they’re all getting together to conspire against Apple. Anyway, it’s just talk, mobile site it is.
March 14th, 2010 at 5:03 am
no not at the moment, m0nty. but who knows, flash aren’t ‘there’ yet, but i suppose apple could be cornered/swayed if flash does have a large influence and provides a unified platform for all the other phone makers.

I think it’s more to do with Apple and Macromedia not seeing eye to eye, Disco DB. And that’s not going to change any time soon, they’ve been at each other’s throats for year.
