CB AFL Dream Team and SuperCoach Podcast #103: Pre-Round 16, 2010
Plenty of news this week, including m0nty’s beery trip to Tasmania and Molly’s hot scoop on the Gold Coast Suns namechange.
First off there’s an in-depth discussion of Tasmania and all that it stands for, including some of the local wildlife, some of whom only have one head. Oh, and m0nty’s appearance on DT Talk (starting at 3:15). Then it’s onto the round review.
Port Adelaide vs Collingwood: Nick Salter, Cameron Hitchcock, Dane Swan, Travis Cloke, Jarryd Blair
West Coast vs Adelaide: Beau Waters, Andrew Embley, Ricky Henderson
Geelong vs Hawthorn: Joel Corey, Mathew Stokes, Jordan Lewis, Carl Peterson
Brisbane vs St Kilda: Tom Rockliff, Daniel Rich (versus Stephen Hill), Nick Riewoldt
Richmond vs Fremantle: Chris Newman, Jack Riewoldt
Sydney vs North Melbourne: Adam Goodes, Trent Dennis-Lane
Melbourne vs Essendon: Colin Sylvia
Carlton vs Western Bulldogs: Paul Bower, Eddie Betts, Ryan Griffen
Finally, the boys discuss Molly’s story on the Gold Coast Suns.

Hey just a query, when you were guys were talking about making ablett or swan your captain at the start you mentioned how it was absolutely fine to lock swan in as your captain but that he’s record against adelaide isn’t so good but has improved… were you talking about swan or ablett? because geelong play adelaide this week not collingwood.. who play st kilda.

Good point. Swan has okay record v Saints, although didn’t crack 100 last year against them. His record at the G is pretty good so he is definitely a captain option this week.

would be a great option if i had him! missed the gravy train! so i’m now tossing up whether i jump back on the ablett bandwagon against adelaide (after taking goddard for captain last week and then hurting badly when my advantage was lost when i had to take ablett as VC) or gambling on Boyd or Goddard again. Thoughts?

I am a fan of the “Lock in Captain”. If I had just Ablett and not Swan, I would have locked him in all year and currently be avg 120 per game for my captain. So yeah, I would go Ablett but any of those 3 would be good.
July 16th, 2010 at 12:42 pm
yeah and most of the year i have applied that theory, thing is everyone in our league has ablett and they are all locking him in every week! so i guess from a league point of view it’s a tactic (abet a risky one) to go for someone else to give you an edge, and should goddard had played last week i would of had that edge! bloody lyon i bet he knew he was out at the selection table! lesson to be learnt from last week is that if your looking for the edge with not putting ablett as your lock in captain then dont put him as vice captain either!

Molly, i definitely think it’s definitely time you definitely stop using the term definitely to describe definitely whether you should pick a player up.
July 20th, 2010 at 5:24 pm
Hehe Cottee. I will Definitely try to stop saying it but you should definitely expect me to say it way too much.
Any one with a second or two could they have a look in a Thesaurus and tell me other words that Definitely mean the same or similar thing?

just a sample: absolutely, beyond any doubt, categorically, clearly, decidedly, doubtless, doubtlessly, easily, explicitly, expressly, far and away, finally, indubitably, no ifs ands or buts about it, obviously, plainly, positively, specifically, surely, undeniably, unequivocally, unmistakably, unquestionably, without doubt, without fail, without question
See how many you can use this week!
